  • In 1990 Waruna commenced its journey as a maritime enterprise, rooted firmly in ship repair services. In these foundational years, the company established its reputation locally by delivering meticulous and reliable repair work

  • In 1995, the company strategically acquired Harbour tug operations, marking its entry into tug services and enhancing its support capabilities.

  • 1996 marked the launch of Waruna’s first small tanker, expanding the company’s service portfolio into tanker operations.

  • In 1997, construction commenced on Waruna’s first dry dock, with a capacity of up to 7,000 DWT, marking a significant operational upgrade.

  • In 1998 Dry Dock 1 was officially launched, swiftly followed by the development of Dock 2 and Dock 3, reinforcing the shipyard’s repair and construction infrastructure

  • In 2002, a large dry dock was introduced, further expanding Waruna’s capacity to accommodate larger vessels and more complex projects.

  • In 2008, the shipyard reached a pivotal milestone with the completion of its fifth and sixth dry docks, significantly enhancing its capabilities and production capacity.

  • Moving to 2009, Waruna initiated operations of its first large tanker, setting the stage for tanker services to become a central focus of the Waruna Group’s business strategy.

  • By 2010, the company expanded into Tug & Barge services, diversifying beyond tanker operations. After 2010, the shipping business penetrated Tug & Barge services

  • In 2015, growth continued in Shipping by the entering the bulk carrier segment. That same year, Waruna Shipyard ramped up its standard by attaining ISO 9001:2008 certification, demonstrating commitment to quality and process.

  • In 2016, Waruna expanded into shipbuilding services, serving national clients including Pelindo and Pertamina Trans Kontinental.

  • In 2019, Waruna broadened its fleet by commissioning its first LPG tanker, alongside a major shipyard milestone with the launch of a new 120,000 DWT dry dock

  • Amid global challenges, Waruna focused on resilience in 2020 by strengthening governance, optimizing operations, and enhancing crew capabilities and processes

  • In 2021 Waruna focused on digital transformation and environmental stewardship, with investments in monitoring systems, emissions reduction, and waste management improvements aligned with maritime sustainability standards.

  • Ini 2023 Waruna strengthened operational excellence through the implementation of an Integrated Safety Management System and expanded regional presence via strategic Southeast Asia partnerships.

  • 2024 was dedicated to safety excellence. Waruna conducted a comprehensive self-assessment of its Safety Management Systems, strengthening compliance, operational integrity, and continuous improvement. The Company also operated TB Master Satu, TB Master Dua, and TB Master Tiga, with capacities ranging from 4,400 to 4,500 HP.

  • 2026 marked the addition of oil barge operations, strengthening Waruna’s presence in petroleum product and crude oil transportation services.
