Situ Gede, February 14, 2026 – In commemoration of National Waste Awareness Day (HPSN) 2026, Waruna Group collaborated with Greeneration Foundation to organize a clean-up initiative at Situ Gede, Bogor City, under the theme “Situ Berkah & Makan Berkah Zero Waste (MBZ).” The event engaged more than 90 participants, including local residents and volunteers. Through the collective effort, a total of 183 kilograms of waste was collected and sorted for further processing. On the same occasion, Waruna Group also donated three paddle boats to the Situ Gede Rowing Community to support ongoing waterway clean-up operations.

By implementing waste segregation from the source, the collected waste will be managed through an integrated circular economy approach. Recyclable inorganic waste will be directed for recycling, organic waste will be processed into compost and Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot feed, while residual waste will be managed using a Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) approach.
In addition to the clean-up activity, the event featured educational sessions on converting organic waste into compost, as well as environmental-themed creative activities for children. The program concluded with the traditional Cucurak gathering through the Makan Berkah Zero Waste (MBZ) concept, which promotes food waste reduction and the use of environmentally friendly dining utensils.

In line with the spirit of collaboration, Waruna Group’s Management fully supports community-based environmental initiatives. As a maritime company, Waruna Group views the preservation of water bodies as an essential part of maintaining sustainable ecosystems. Situ Gede plays a strategic role as both a water resource and an ecologically valuable public space. Therefore, collaboration among local governments, communities, and the public is expected to strengthen efforts to preserve the cleanliness and sustainability of the area.
Through this initiative, Waruna Group and Greeneration Foundation encourage active participation from communities and volunteers in fostering more responsible and sustainable waste management practices, while preserving Situ Gede as a shared living environment for current and future generations.
