ASD Tug 3200 HP Construction to Support the Maritime Industry

Waruna Group, through PT Waruna Shipyard Indonesia, is currently undertaking the construction of three 3200 HP ASD Tugboats (NB-040, NB-041, and NB-042) as part of the company's commitment to delivering high-quality vessels that meet customer needs.

Tugboats play a vital role in the maritime industry by supporting pilotage and towing operations for large vessels, assisting ship maneuvering in confined waters, and facilitating berthing and unberthing activities. These capabilities help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable port operations.

The strategic project commenced with the keel laying ceremony on October 8, 2025. As of the end of June 2026, the project has reached the advanced stages of hull construction and outfitting, with hull completion ranging from 93.40% to 97.50%. Progress has also been made across piping, electrical & HVAC, and painting works, while mechanical and carpentry activities continue in line with the project schedule to support the timely completion of each vessel.

The project is driven by close collaboration across multiple departments, including Engineering, New Building Hull & Outfitting, New Building Machinery & Electrical, Blasting & Painting, HSE, Project Management, and QAQC. Following the keel laying stage, construction has progressed through fabrication and structural erection, installation of hull, machinery, and electrical systems, as well as blasting and painting. Each phase is carried out under rigorous supervision to ensure compliance with the company's quality, technical, and safety standards.

With steady progress across all workstreams, the project team remains committed to maintaining high standards of performance, quality, and occupational safety to achieve the targeted delivery schedule: December 2026 for NB-040, January 2027 for NB-041, and February 2027 for NB-042. Upon completion, the ASD Tug 3200 HP project is expected to strengthen Waruna Group's shipbuilding capabilities while delivering long-term value to customers and supporting the company's sustainable business growth.
